Woolly Dreamers Workshop: Learn to Knit a Kimono-Style Jumper
Make a beautiful kimono-inspired knitted jumper using our painless, pattern-free technique in this knitting workshop suitable for all
Learn to make a stylish knitted jumper inspired by traditional Japanese kimonos, and learn the secret to making fabulous knitwear without the need for complicated patterns. Made from simple square panels to echo the iconic square sleeves and wrap neckline of a Kimono, course tutor Monica Blackwood will show you how this jumper design can be created over the course of six 2-hour sessions, so you’ll not only learn how to make it, but also take home a finished jumper at the end of the course.
Suitable for those who’ve only just learned to knit and pearl, as well as more experienced knitters, if you can knit a line, you can knit this jumper! Come and join us at The Box Arts Club at Arts Central Studios, Kiln Farm, for a relaxed and social course where you’ll be guided through the whole process – no tricky patterns or fiddly instructions involved. To finish the jumper within the course dates, you will most likely need to do a bit of knitting between the two dates, but this will depend on your knitting speed and the jumper is designed to be made both quickly and easily by anyone who can manage a basic knit and pearl.
