Big Green Week 2026

Great Big Green Week banner

Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature — and in 2026, we want Milton Keynes to go big!

Across the country, communities, schools, businesses, faith groups, and individuals will be coming together to take action for a greener, fairer, safer future. From tree planting to litter picks, repair cafés to art trails, film screenings to local food feasts, every action counts, and every group can take part.

Last year, over 1.2 million people joined the celebrations across the UK. With so much great “green” stuff going on in Milton Keynes all year round, we want to show more of what we do in Big Green Week 2026!

What’s happening in MK?

Transition Town Milton Keynes (TTMK) is planning on putting together a city-wide programme of events for Big Green Week 2026. Our goal is to:

  • Promote all the great “green” things happening across Milton Keynes
  • Create one central hub so everyone knows what’s on
  • Support local groups and organisers with promotion and materials
  • Build connections between people and projects making a difference

We’ll also be exploring grant funding to help with publicity materials, event coordination, and shared resources… But first, we need to know who’s in!

How you can get involved

We’re inviting local groups, organisations, and individuals to be part of this shared celebration.

💚 Planning an event and want it included in the Big Green Week MK programme?

💚 Interested in being part of our Big Green Week MK organising team?

💚 Simply to be kept in the loop?

Let’s show what Milton Keynes can do together during Big Green Week 2026… and beyond!
