Webinar: Nature-Friendly Farming

Nature-friendly farming is an approach to agriculture that works with natural systems rather than against them—aiming to produce food while also protecting and enhancing wildlife, soils, water, and the wider environment.

In this introductory webinar, Martin Lines (Farmer and CEO of the Nature Friendly Farming Network) explores why farming with nature is better for our businesses, our environment and is also the most productive and sustainable way of getting food from our land.

Martin Lines will cover the following topics on nature-friendly farming:

  • Practical Nature-Friendly Approaches: How farmers can adopt methods that enhance wildlife across the farmed landscape while remaining realistic about day-to-day farming.
  • Biodiversity Benefits: Drawing on his experience in farming and policy, Martin will explore how measures that support biodiversity can also strengthen productive, resilient farm businesses.
  • Soils and Landscape: How working with nature benefits soils, species, and the wider landscape, integrating environmental health with farming productivity.
  • Real-World Implementation: Opportunities to reflect on what these practices look like in action, with examples grounded in everyday farm management.
  • Future of Farming: Why adopting nature-friendly practices matters for long-term farm resilience, biodiversity, and sustainable food production.

This free webinar is aimed at anyone with an interest in working towards a sustainable future for farmers and wildlife. We welcome farmers, students, naturalists, conservation professionals, ecologists, land managers, and anyone else who is keen to understand how to farm with nature in mind.

The 60-minute event will consist of a presentation followed by a live Q&A with the tutor, using questions submitted by the audience.

This event is a one-off and will not be repeated. But if you can’t attend the live event, you don’t need to miss out. Book a space and once we’ve processed the event content after the live event you will be sent a link to the content online.

Recordings of the presentation and a transcript of the Q&A/useful links will be emailed following the webinar to those who booked a space on the event.
