Home Energy MK: Housewarming MK talk
There is a wealth of information online about energy efficiency improvements, but it can be very confusing and difficult to know what information to trust, or to find an independent overview.
The Housewarming MK programme is a series of 7 FREE fortnightly evening meetings taking place at Bletchley Library, Westfield Rd, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 2RA from 17th January 2024.
The purpose of the sessions to help homeowners keen to upgrade their homes to better understand each of the core retrofit areas in turn. The programme is wholly independent and does not recommend or sell any specific products. It assumes the homeowner is likely to be using contractors to deliver the retrofit work but is keen to develop their own knowledge and understanding.
The series will include an overview of the options and choices available as well as key risks that could be encountered which will help homeowners have more informed conversations with contractors and professionals as they develop their own plans.
Each session will be a combination of presentation and group discussion and will focus on one of the core home retrofit areas. The series will be based on the Housewarming Guides written by independent experts and produced by Low Carbon Oxford North. These can be downloaded below.
Delivered by the Home Energy MK team, specialist speakers will also be invited to attend the sessions when appropriate and possible.
By the end of the series of meetings, homeowners should become ‘better buyers’ and more able to decide what their priorities might be and work they may want to undergo to upgrade their homes.
